Prof. Huamin Yang

Changchun University of Science and Technology, China

             

Introduction: 

Prof. Huamin Yang, the current Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Changchun University of Science and Technology (CUST). He graduated from Dalian University of Technology in 1985. He was promoted to a professor in 1999, and became a doctoral supervisor in 2001. Currently he serves as the Director of the Provincial Education Informatization Expert Advisory Committee, Head of the Provincial Manufacturing Informatization Expert Group, President of Jilin Society for Robots, Vice President of Jilin Computer Federation, Vice President of Jilin Society of Image and Graphics, and Vice Chairman of China Computer Federation Changchun Branch. He has won the third prize of the National Science and Technology Award once and the first, second and third prizes of the Science and Technology Award at the provincial and ministerial levels 12 times. He also won the Outstanding Contribution Award of “Eleventh Five-year Plan” National Science and Technology Plan Implementation and the Outstanding Contribution Award of Jilin IT industry. Prof. Yang has published 5 monographs and more than 150 papers. He was awarded the honorary titles of National Model Teacher, Provincial Senior Expert, Top Ten Inspirational Entrepreneurial Figures of Jilin, the first top innovative talents of Jilin, and the first batch of entrepreneurial pioneers in Jilin. His main research interests cover virtual reality, digital media, and image processing.

Prof. Feng Wu, IEEE Fellow

University of Science and Technology of China, China


Introduction:

Prof. Feng Wu is a professor and Ph.D. advisor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Science at the University of Science and Technology of China. Prior to joining the University of Science and Technology of China, He was a Research Fellow, Principal Researcher and Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research Asia. His main research interests include video coding and communication, multimedia content analysis, computer vision, etc. He has published 44 papers in IEEE TCSVT, IEEE TIP and other IEEE journals, and 12 papers in MOBICOM, CVPR and other international conferences recognized by China Computer Federation as Class-A level. He also won the Best Journal Paper Award in IEEE TCSVT 2009 and the Best Paper Award in PCM 2008 and VCIP 2007. He also serves as an editor-in-chief of IEEE TCSVT and IEEE TMM, and chair of the program committees of the international conferences IEEE MMSP 2011, IEEEVCIP 2010 and PCM 2009. Prof. Wu has made important contributions to the development of domestic and international video coding standards, and 15 technical proposals have been adopted by MPEG-4, H.264, H.265, etc. He was the Head of China AVS video coding group (2002-2004) and completed the technical development of China AVS video coding standard 1.0, which was approved as the Chinese national standard in 2006. He won the second prize of the State Technological Invention Award in 2006 for his technical contributions to the national video coding standard. In addition, he has been granted 77 U.S. invention patents as an inventor in video, image and data coding.

Prof. Yi Chang

Jilin University, China


Introduction: 

Prof. Yi Chang is the Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence at Jilin University, the 13th National Distinguished Fellow, Distinguished Scientist of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and Fellow of the British Computer Society (BCS). He was the Vice President of Futurewei in the U.S. and the Director of Yahoo! Research Laboratory. He received the B.S. degree from the School of Computer Science, Jilin University, the M.S. degree from both the Institute of Computing Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Carnegie Mellon University, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Southern California (USC) from 2001 to 2016, respectively. From 2006 to 2016, Chang served as Director, Senior Research Manager, Researcher, and Senior Researcher at Yahoo! Research Laboratory. From 2016 to 2018, he became the Vice President of Futurewei. In 2018, he served as National Distinguished Professor. Currently, he serves as the Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence, Jilin University. Until now, Prof. Chang has delivered more than 100 papers in leading international conferences and journals. He has published one monograph and held more than 30 patents. He was also the winner of the WSDM 2016 Best Paper Award and the KDD 2016 Best Paper Award. Besides, he is an Associate Editor of TKDE, Chair of WSDM 2018, and Chair of SIGIR 2020.

Prof. Lihua Zhang

Fudan University, China


Introduction:

Lihua Zhang serves as the Standing Vice President of the Institute of AI and Robotics, Fudan University, Deputy Director of the Engineering Research Center of AI and Robotics, the Ministry of Education and Director of the Engineering Research Center of AI and Unmanned Systems in Jilin Province. He received his B.S. degree in Automatic Control from the Department of Automation, Tsinghua University in 1994, and his Ph.D. degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2000. He has held senior technical and managerial positions in well-known multinational high-tech companies such as Nvidia, and is the expert in charge of the overall group of the National Science and Technology Innovation 2030 New Generation Artificial Intelligence Major Project, and the core expert of the National Key R&D Program - Key Technologies and Demonstration of IoT and Smart Cities. Zhang focuses on the research of heterogeneous computing and mobile computing, computer vision and AI, virtual reality and augmented reality, image processing and video codec, design for multicore processor chip architecture, analysis and optimization for complex system performance, 3D physical simulation, etc. He has been responsible for more than one hundred various research projects and has completed the development of core technologies and products such as PhysX, PPU, heterogeneous system performance analysis and task scheduling tools, heterogeneous system compilation technology, smart image processing and its analysis, etc. His main research interests cover machine intuition, new generation AI theories (including ternary spatial swarm intelligence), computer vision and smart perception, analysis and visualization of Big Data, intelligent robotics and unmanned systems, smart computing and smart chips.

Prof. Zhengang Jiang

Changchun University of Science and Technology, China


Introduction:

Prof. Zhengang Jiang is currently the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Technology of Changchun University of Science and Technology.  In 1997, he graduated from Changchun Institute of Optics and Mechanics with a degree in computer science and stayed there for teaching. He served as the director of the Network Management Center, the deputy director and then the vice president of the Department of Computer Science. In 2013, he became the executive director and deputy secretary general of Jilin Computer Federation. In 2006, he was sent to study at Nagoya University in Japan to conduct research related to medical image processing, and his research result - flexible endoscopic navigation technology based on tracking registration technology - became the first clinical trial of brain surgery in Japan. In 2010, he returned to China and became the vice dean of the School of Computer Science in charge of discipline construction, organizing the review of the first-level discipline of computer science and technology authorization and the declaration of the first-level discipline of master in software engineering. Dr. Jiang is currently engaged in research related to mixed reality and medical image processing. In 2012, he published his scholarly monograph, Computer Navigation Technology in Minimally Invasive Surgery. In addition, he has presided over or participated in more than 10 provincial and ministerial level projects, received 7 provincial and ministerial level science and technology awards, published nearly 20 academic papers, and traveled to Europe and the United States four times to present his research results at academic conferences.

Prof. Yunqing Liu

Dean of School of electronic information engineering, Changchun University of Science and Technology, China


Introduction:

Yunqing Liu (Professor;  Doctoral Supervisor) is Leader of the first-class discipline—Information and Communication Engineering in Jilin Province; Head of national-class majors; Academic Leader in optoelectronic care; and Director of Jilin Science and Technology Innovation Center for Intelligent Perception and Information Processing.

In March 1998, he became a project manager in Shenzhen Huawei Technology Co., Ltd., and then in Emerson Network Power Co., Ltd., where he worked in the development of power electronics and electrical drive technologies.

In 2003, he was appointed as a professor at Changchun University of Science and Technology, and continued his research on space laser communication and radar signal processing.

Currently he serves as Vice Chair of Jilin Association for Artificial Intelligence, and Vice Chair of China Technology Innovation Committee.

His previous honors include 1 Science and Technology Progress Award at provincial and ministerial level (First prize), and 1 Science and Technology Invention Award (Second prize). As a sub-project manager, he participated in two 863 Programs and undertook more than 30 key projects at national or provincial level.

Prof. Qi Li

Changchun University of Science and Technology, China


Introduction:

Prof. Qi Li is a professor and doctoral supervisor in the School of Computer Science and Technology of Changchun University of Technology. In 2000, he graduated from Changchun Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, majoring in computer and application, and stayed in school to teach in the same year. In 2005, he was sent to Japan on a study abroad program and received his Ph.D. in engineering from Okayama National University in March 2010. His was awarded the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award by Okayama University, Japan. In 2010, he returned to China and set up Brain Informatics Research Laboratory, mainly engaging in research on brain informatics and smart information processing. Prof. Li is currently presiding over one project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (61203362), one project supported by the Scientific Research Staring Foundation for the Returned Overseas Chinese Scholars, Ministry of Education of China, two projects supported by Jilin Provincial Department of Science and Technology (20100171 and 20120756), and one project of the Provincial Department of Personnel. He has published more than 50 academic papers, 11 of which have been indexed by SCI and more than 20 by EI/ISTP, and has written one scholarly monograph. In 2012, he was honored as an advanced worker of Changchun University of Science and Technology. In 2013, he was honored as an advanced individual of Changchun University of Science and Technology for “Three Educations”. In 2014, he won one Teaching Achievement Award in Jilin Province (6th place). Besides, Prof. Li also serves as a full member of the World Society for Complex Medical Engineering, China Computer Federation, and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). He also serves as the Publicity Chair of the Organizing Committee of the 2010 International Conference on Complex Medical Engineering (ICME) and the Publication Chair of 2012 ICME.

Prof. Chunyi Chen

Changchun University of Science and Technology, China


Introduction:

Chunyi Chen, male, is a professor and doctoral supervisor in the School of Computer Science and Technology of Changchun University of Science and Technology (CUST). In July 2003, he graduated from CUST and got the first place in the postgraduate course in computer science, and stayed there to teach after his graduation in the same year. He won the third prize of the 9th Young Teachers’ Lecture Competition held by CUST. As a key member, he participated in designing excellent courses such as Computer Operating System and Software Engineering. In 2006, Prof. Chen received his master’s degree in computer application technology from CUST. At the same year, he became a doctoral student of CUST studying under Prof. Huamin Yang. And he received his Ph.D. degree in physical electronics in 2009. Prof. Chen mainly engaged in the research of modeling and simulation of optoelectronic systems. His doctoral dissertation was awarded as the excellent doctoral dissertation in Jilin Province in 2011. In 2008, he was sponsored by the China Scholarship Council to study in University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia. In 2012, he was released from the postdoctoral station of Computer Science and Technology of Jilin University. He has conducted research on realistic 3D graphics supported by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation and his Postdoctoral Final Report was evaluated as excellent. Up to now, Prof. Chen has presided over two scientific research projects, including one project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and one project supported by Jilin Scientific and Technological Development Program, and participates in five scientific research projects at national and provincial levels. He has published 20 papers, including 5 SCI-indexed and 16 EI-indexed papers. He has applied for 12 invention patents, 4 of which have been granted, and received 3 provincial and ministerial level research awards (2 as the first winner). Chen is also a member of China Computer Federation and a reviewer of the internationally recognized journal, Optics Letters.

Assoc. Prof. Xin Zhang, IEEE Member

Changchun University of Science and Technology, China


Introduction:

Assoc. Prof. Xin Zhang, is a Member of IEEE, GdR-MACS, and CCF. He graduated from the University of Bordeaux, France, with a Ph.D. degree in 2013. From 2009 to 2013, he worked as a researcher and product design engineer at CNRS, and from 2019 to 2020, he acted as a visiting scholar at the University of Southern California, USA. His research interests include urban computing, design engineering, and systems engineering. He has presided over 3 provincial and ministerial level research projects, 4 horizontal commissioned research projects, and participated in 6 national and provincial level research projects. In recent years, he has published 15 academic papers, 2 academic books, and 2 national invention patents. He serves as a reviewer of International Journals, namely, International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks and Journal of Advanced Computational Intelligence and Intelligent Informatics. He has set up “Introduction to Java Programming”, “Software Project Management”, “Object-Oriented Programming”, and “Introduction to Computer Science (Full English)” for undergraduate students, and “Object-Oriented Principles and Techniques” and “Software Verification” for master students.
